SOME PEOPLE NEED TO SHUT UP AND SWALLOW THEIR PRIDE

I have a saying I always use for myself: when in doubt ask yourself; what Jackie would do?

I’m speaking of the very lady-like First Lady Jackie Kennedy who knew when to speak, when to
shut her mouth, always act like a lady, and let her husband be the president.

Michelle Obama might want to think twice before speaking, especially when it comes to America’s pride: Most Americans tend to be very prejudice when it comes to loving America and being proud to be American. Mrs. Obama has many Americans wondering just how deep her American pride runs.

The wife of presidential candidate Barack Obama has twice told Americans that “this is the first time” in her “adult life” that she “has felt proud to be an American.” The statement did not go over well. Mrs. Obama is 45 years old, lives in the land of opportunity where she, a black woman, is a Princeton and Harvard Law graduate, the wife of the first black American to be a front-runner in the presidential race, and the mother of two children. I
think Mrs. Obama has a lot to be proud of up to this moment in time.

Mrs. Obama has much to be proud of America.

Perhaps Michelle Obama has forgotten the Civil Rights movement 40 years ago she should be proud of. Maybe Mrs. Obama needs to be reminded America ended the Cold War, brought down the Berlin Wall, ended communism, destroyed the Soviet Union, removed Saddam Hussein from power, removed the Taliban from power, came to Indonesia’s aid after 200 thousand plus humans were killed in a Tsunami, sends missionaries to Africa to feed the poor, doctor the sick, and rescue slaves in the Sudan.

Someone needs to remind Michelle Obama that America has proudly elected many blacks to the highest positions of power and her husband might be the first black president in U.S. history.

I don’t know about Mrs. Obama, but I as an America am very proud of America for the above listed facts.

The problem with Mrs. Obama’s statements is the words came from two scripted speeches. Her words were not unintentional rhetorical flubs and this has many voters wondering just how patriotic the possible First Lady is.

Mrs. Obama’s has not yet apologized for her uncalled for comments, instead, she told an audience on February 20, 2008, she is “proud people are finally rolling up their sleeves and ready to do something…” Ready to roll up our sleeves; what about all the Americans who rolled up their sleeves during and after 9/11 and did great things together to rescue, save, and rebuild? What about those heroic rescue workers who went to New Orleans to help citizens
trapped in a sunken city? What about President Bush who has given more money to Africa for Aid than any other president in history?

Someone has a short memory or very little pride in the U.S.

All Mrs. Obama has done with her constant anti-American rhetoric over the past week is prove she meant what she said in the last two speeches by reinforcing the fact she does not believe we Americans have done squat to build this country together, make America great, and help the world.

Mrs. Obama is giving Americans the idea she does not think she or her husband’s accomplishments, or all minorities in high government positions, means anything in the way of pride.

Mrs. Obama ought to leave the foot and mouth disease to the Clinton’s who can’t help themselves when it comes to acting like the ungrateful Marxist communists they so obviously are. But Mrs. Obama is a liberal who preys on the low-income she and her husband and all liberals need to keep down to help keep liberals and Democrats in power. They do so by convincing the low-income minorities that America is not the land of opportunity unless you
are white and wealthy.

Mrs. Obama has so much to be proud of and thankful for, she should be telling black voters they too can rise as she and her husband and many black leaders have. She should tell voters America gives us all every chance to be anything we want. Saying one has never felt proud to be American during one’s adult life sounds more like America is Calcutta: a place with no
opportunity for anyone unless they are filthy rich.

Whatever happened to ladies who know their place? Where are the Jackie’s, the Pat’s, the Tess Truman’s, the Roselyn’s, the Betty’s, the Nancy’s, the Barbara’s and the Laura’s who believe in encouraging Americans to believe in America while standing “by their man” with wifely pride?

Those women were and are the Abigail Adams’s who knew a First Lady was to be just that, while supporting her husband, not competing with him.

Actually that went down the tubes with Hillary Clinton who believes it’s a woman’s duty to speak for her husband, act like a man, and convince women that traditional president’s wives are all archaic imbeciles.

Wow, is that why Laura Bush, the most popular First Lady with Democrats and Republicans, is so beloved; because she’s an imbecile who enjoys her place as a wife and mother who supports her husband without embarrassing him?

Michelle Obama might want to look back at those First Ladies who are popular and loved: they are the traditional women who kept their mouths shut and their opinions to themselves. They never said or did anything that would make Americans feel like the First Lady is not proud of
her country.
