Once again the Southern battle flag has become a campaign issue to determine which candidates are racist by asking the question: does the state of South Carolina have the right to fly the Confederate flag over its State Capitol?
Anyone who has studied history knows the Confederate flag was never the flag of slavery; slavery was under the U.S. flag we call Old Glory. The Confederate flag was not created until the Civil War when the south needed a battle flag to identify itself.
It was not until July 21, 1861 that the South realized they needed to identify themselves with a battle flag different than stars and strips. Technically, the Confederate flag is a Christian flag since the symbol on the flag is the Cross of St. Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland who traveled the world spreading Christianity in the first century A.D.
Does that mean the U.S. should condemn the Scottish Military for bearing the symbol? Are Scottish soldiers slaving racists?
Perhaps Connecticut natives like I should burn are wardrobe of Scottish tartan. We Nutmeggers wouldn’t want to look like plaid-bearing racist to uneducated liberals.
Why don’t we get technical about the entire farce and condemn England, Holland, and Portugal since those three countries imported slaves to America under their flags. Why don’t we force them to give up their flags and put them away in museums as symbols of white supremacy?
Better yet, let’s burn the Muslim flag: the true flag of slavery. In Africa, black slavery continues to flourish in the Sudan under Islam. If any flag should be burned and abolished it’s the Muslim flag.
The venomous Ku Klux Klan has misused a non-slavery symbol of Southern pride for racist propaganda. For years Hollywood, Washington liberals, the NAACP, and the ACLU have promoted the Confederate flag as the ultimate symbol of slavery and hatred toward blacks.
Dick Morris, the infamous Clinton toe-sucker compared the Confederate flag to the Nazi Swastika on January 11, 2008’s O’Reilly Factor, asserting the Confederate flag is to blacks what the Swastika is to Jews.
In that case, we should ban Old Glory and condemn the U.S. Navy for flying her since it was under our current flag that Franklin D. Roosevelt refused to let 925 Jews sail into Miami’s harbor before the Holocaust. FDR sent the Navy to prevent the ship from entering U.S. waters declaring “I don’t want any damned Jews to land safely on their [Florida’s] soil.”
Anti-Confederates refuse to acknowledge the fact the great Democrat FDR was a racist who barred Jesse Owens from the White House after his Olympic win and had the possible chance of preventing the Holocaust by taking Jewish refugees into America.
Democrats praise racists and place them in high Senate positions—think former KKK Grande Wizard Senator Robert Byrd.
The NAACP discounts another fact: President Bill Clinton, the darling of all liberals, governed Arkansas under the Confederate flag flying over the Arkansas State Capitol. Bill and Hillary Clinton celebrated Confederate Day each year during their Arkansas days; Bill never once repealed the Arkansas Code Section 1-5-107 declaring every April seventh as the day to celebrate the Confederacy.
Not until 2000 did Bill Clinton denounce the flag. Hillary was running for New the York Senate in a Jewish state where she became a pseudo-Jew for the vote.
The NAACP and ACLU ignore polls showing support for the flag by Southern blacks. Liberals purposely overlook the fact black men fought on the Southern side during the Civil War—their decedents are members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans who attend Confederate reunions wearing the grey uniform of their ancestors.
The NAACP does not want Americans aware their former leader H.K Edgerton marched in support of the Confederate flag on July 4, 2005.
The Confederate flag does not stand for slavery or racism. White Supremacists do not speak for the Confederate flag, but liberals have rewritten history convincing Americans that South Carolinians and any American flying the flag are racists.
South Carolina has every right to fly its Confederate battle flag with pride.
The entire Confederate flag issue should not be a campaign issue: it falls under State’s Rights, not the federal government or the president. Any candidate who does not have the guts to admit the simple truth—the Confederate flag is a battle flag, not a slavery flag—is cow-towing to political correctness, the invention of Adolf Hitler. For that, they should think twice. Political correctness is the racism which murdered 10 million Jews during WWII.
